The Lord called me home today

by L.A. Thunder

The Lord called me home today
A lot of people cried,
But don't stand at my grave,
Asking the Lord "why?"

Many of you will miss me,
I know this much is true,
But I didn't die completely,
A part I left with you.

For all of you that cry today,
Know that I'll cry too,
But now I am in a better place,
Looking down on you.

I live within your memory,
And deep within your heart,
Take comfort in our yesterdays
For today we part.

Don't leave here feeling empty,
Ot wondering what to do,
You know I don't like sadness,
Or people feeling blue.

So the next time you see the sun,
Think of it as me,
The next time you hear a bird,
Look up in a tree.

For I may be anywhere,
You know it could be true,
So listen as you walk through life
I now walk with you.

Author Notes
In a matter of a few years I lost my mother, my Uncle Bob, my best friend, Eric, another bests friend Marissa, my Aunt Polly and my sister Sharon. I also lost my Nona and my brother Jeffery. I wrote this in honour of them. I still miss them a lot. My life hasn't been the same since they've died, but I wanted to say 'Thank You' to all of them for the things they taught me, the friendship we shared, for always loving me, and believing in me as a writer. I love you all.

To a Friend

by Steve L. Siegel

You're headed on a journey,
A place I long to go; a land filled
with God's heavenly angels
where peaceful valleys do rest . . .

Very soon you'll have a ticket
on a no-returning trip;
no need for luggage,
so plan to travel light . . .

There'll be no anymore tears.
however, blessings you'll receive,
an eternal torch of love,
You've already achieved . . .
There's no need for an auto,
nor in any of a train or bus;
your trip has been predestined,
from rebirth, so you can live in peace . . .

No more pain or sorrow,

that part you'll leave behind,
you home awaits youin heaven
a joy beyond compare. . .

You're ready for the venture,
so with voucher in hand;
you're bound for Zion's glory,
in that far-off distant shore . . .

Your fight is ready now, my friend
for you it is all first class;
you will not be returning here
Jesus wants for you alone, on this glorious day . . .

I thank Lestereden for the use of his picture "Into the Light". It is truly awesome. Steve

Editor's Note I have omitted a 3-line blessing by Steve because I think he might have done it late at night - It may even be some lines he tried and forgot to erase; I hope to contact Steve to sort this out.
