About Edenborough Encaustics Online

Although Edenborough Encaustics Online is very new, Lester Edenborough has been making encaustic paintings since 1991, mainly exhibiting in the local area of his studio in Kent, England. Before the website, this business was called Lyrical Beeswax Paintings. Then the word 'encaustic' was hardly recogised so the word 'Beeswax' was used instead.

In 1995 Lester developed a serious and extremely painful leg problem which virtually immobilised him, so making it very difficult to work in his studio, and virtually impossible to participate in exhibitions and demonstrations, so for a while he gave it up.

Recently, with the occasional partial remission of his leg complaint, it became possible to occasionally work in the studio. Lester decided to revive the business within his physical limitations, and to build a website. As most artists work under their own name, it was decided to call this site Edenborough Encaustics Online. We still use the business name Lyrical Beeswax Paintings for off-line transactions.
